With lightning speed changes, technology is overwhelming society and people are losing touch with their roots and the foundations of their cultures. Along with this, natural phenomena are uprooting peoples and creating emotional, financial and cultural havoc worldwide. Kengo Takahashi, sensing people’s needs for positive sociocultural identification, works to preserve cultural foundations at the same time as he creates new expressions.

Using familiar icons and materials in new ways, he strives to develop new techniques and technologies that can present aspects of the cultural heritage of the Japanese in contemporary forms while preserving its origins.
